It goes without saying that 2020 was one hell of a roller coaster, for better or for worse (but mostly worse). I’ll skip all the mumbo jumbo and tragedies we had to face in that one year alone, but 2021 was meant to be a fresh start for all of us.
MCO was supposed to end, our cases should’ve stopped rising, and we were all supposed to just start afresh and finally do everything we couldn’t the year before.
And yet, we’re only three weeks into the new year and somehow, things just seem to get increasingly disastrous as it goes. Our cases are rising at a steady 3k every day, MCO is probably staying a lot longer than we want it to, there’s the whole storming of the capitol bullshit happening in the US, foreigners are refusing to abide by Covid rules in Bali… and the list goes on.
But, on the bright side, it’s just the start of the year, right? I mean, it can’t get any worse than this… right? Oh boy. I’m having deja vu all over again.
But I digress. 2021 is meant for new beginnings, and although we started rough, I have high hopes for the year to come. And to celebrate the new year (although we’re hilariously 3 weeks late), here’s our 2021 wishlist.
Love,
The ALAMAK! Team.
Putting aside hopes for the vaccine to be distributed or for all the virus strains to miraculously mutate into something completely harmless overnight, I have one main wish for 2021. My wish is for this to be the year that the incompetent PN government steps down with a tearful apology for their atrocious politicking so that the previous PH cabinet can be reinstalled (minus certain names).
Not much needs to be said about the absolute incompetence of the current cabinet in doing their jobs. From the economic minister getting roasted fact-checked by the CEO of Eurocham on LinkedIn for his baseless brags, to the health minister silently standing behind our DG every evening, to the PM announcing for the 5th(?) time in a row new Covid restrictions at the very last minute. No need to even mention the whole ‘darurat’ thing. If they truly give a single hoot about the people they should all resign tomorrow.
(If I get a second wish, it’s to finally have enough muscle mass to perform a full push up)

Let’s pretend 2020 never happened. Anyways, 2021 is where all the promising possibilities lie, or so we hope… (2021 please be good!)
With the stay at home order going on in some parts of the world, not all of us had it great throughout the months-after-months break. Even so, my heart and prayers go to those who handled the tough times so well.
Just like how 2020 taught me responsibility, discipline and motivation, 2021 is where I wish to apply the lessons that I’ve learnt from the past and strive on becoming a better person overall!
Wishing everyone a fulfilling and satisfying year ahead!

To start things off, I just really want a job. I have a bad obsession with buying clothes online non stop so finally having the funds to comfortably do so will be a huge plus!
But on a more serious note, 2020 was a year of reflection for me, of bad habits, old and new, and how they affected my relationships with the people around me. I want 2021 to be the year I finally take a step back and stop overworking and overexerting myself in both work life and friendships, and finally focus on the people that matter most.
No more will I put in the effort for friendships that can just fall apart in an instance! This is the year I take back the love I’ve given them and finally give them to the people who truly care.
