FAQ
Does ALAMAK! Mag pay contributors?
Unfortunately, we do not. ALAMAK! Mag is a passion project started up by a young, poor and overly ambitious creative writing university student, and her (very unwilling, and also very poor) friends. As a result of this, we currently lack the funds to properly pay our contributors and we are extremely regretful of that fact. If in the foreseeable future, we are able to earn a profit from ALAMAK! Magazine, we will of course start paying contributors as we should be. In the meantime, you can consider donating money to our Ko-fi to help support our magazine!
After submitting my piece, when should I hear back?
We will respond within 2-4 weeks after the closing date for submissions on the status of your work. If you still haven’t heard from us by then, please don’t hesitate to chuck us an email or DM and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible!
How can I get featured for a spread or interview?
For any feature/interview enquiries, please email us at alamakmagazine@gmail.com and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
If short-listed, will my work be edited?
Yes, it will! ALAMAK! Magazine is committed to help artists develop their skills, as well as publishing pieces in the best condition they can be in.
Does ALAMAK! give feedback on rejected pieces?
Yes, we do. We believe that artists should be given the chance to learn from their mistakes, and to grow as artists. Feedback will be given on rejected pieces 2-4 weeks after contributors have been informed of their submission status. If you haven’t received feedback on your submission by then, please email us and we will respond to you as soon as possible.
